Biography:
Alene S. Fowler was first introduced to Mote and their scientists on the beaches of Longboat Key in the late 90’s. This encounter sparked in her a life-long passion for learning about our oceans and protecting our marine life.
Alene S. Fowler earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Stetson University and received her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law. She is a licensed attorney, has practiced and run a successful legal practice for over ten years but, her heart has always been in the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining Mote, she worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida, as their Sarasota Regional Director.
Fueled by her passion for Mote’s mission, creating a better environment for ourselves and children by protecting our oceans, Alene joined the Mote team as Philanthropy Officer. In her role as such, Alene enjoys working with donors who share her love of our oceans and the marine animals that depend on it. She is excited to be able to help advance Mote’s mission and inspire future generations to become stewards for our oceans.
