Endless Oceans: Environmental Health & Harmful Algal Blooms

October 11 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Mote's Jess Frankle with an intern monitoring the conditions inside a limnocorral (a cylindrical large structure with thick material to block a certain portion of the water column for a red tide mitigation experiment.

A square icon with rounded corners, primarily in shades of pink and purple. It is labeled "ENDLESS OCEANS" and contains stylized images, including a profile silhouette of a person looking through a microscope, an squid, and a framed certificate with a seal, all set against a backdrop of stars, symbolizing exploration and achievement in marine science.

At Mote, we study ocean phenomena that impact environmental health and coastal communities—harmful algae, climate change, pollution and more—to develop practical solutions ranging from red tide mitigation to ecological restoration.
