Feather blennies grow to be 3-4 inches (9-10 centimeters).
Diet:
Feather bennies eat small crustacean and fish but will opportunistically feed on larger fish.
Range & Habitat:
Feather blennies can be found along the coasts of the Gulf of Mexico and along the shoreline of North America in the Atlantic. They tend to hide out near hard bottom habitats like oyster reefs and rocky shores.
Details:
Feather blennies are olive green with dark spots along their heads. They have two feathery tentacles branching off of the top of their heads.
Between the months of March and August, female blennies begin to spawn eggs while the makes guard them until they hatch. Feather blennies are very territorial and will defend their territory from potential threats. They’re also fairly solitary, staying hidden in empty shells and other small spaces.
