Epaulette sharks have great eyesight and sensitive barbs on they end of their snouts, making them extremely aware of their surroundings.

These sharks are small in size, only reaching 27- 35 inches (70-90 centimeters) in length.

Diet:

As bottom feeders, these sharks feed on a variety of aquatic invertebrates and worms.

Range & Habitat:

From the southern coast of New Guinea to the northern coast of Australia, epaulette sharks live near coral reef areas, sandy bottoms and on occasion, tide pools to hunt for food.

Details:

Small and slender, epaulette sharks are tan with dark brown and black spots along their bodies. They have short, rounded snouts with barbs near their mouth.
